About Us

Naomh Peregrine continues to go from strength to strenght . Located on the Blakestown Road between Clonsilla and Mullhuddart in Dublin 15, the club aims to provide top-class, modern sporting facilities for the local community. The club was founded in 1978 at a time when Dublin had only begun expanding out to the west and farming was the predominant activity in the area. We are now located in the heart of a thriving, urban community with 62 teams in four codes: football, hurling, ladies' football and camogie.

The club is unique in Dublin GAA, providing a covered, seated stand for 500+ patrons to watch matches in comfort. Coupled with its modern dressing rooms, sports hall and new astro-turf training facility, the club is becoming increasingly attractive as a neutral venue for the Dublin County Board for championship matches and finals. This year we hosted the Dublin u-16 boys' finals and witnessed a feast of football from the top 8 clubs in the county. Naomh Peregrine continues to develop the facilities at Blakestown Road. 2010 saw the completion of the new asto-turf, all-weather facility and preparactions are nearing completion on the opening of an additional plot of adjacent land, allocated by Fingal County Council, which will serve as a juvenile training and adult warm-up area.

The club's underage structures continue to blossom and we now boast an ever-growing nursery and host Spring, Summer and Halloween camps catering for children up to 12 years of age. The club are privileged to have a top-class and highly qualified GPO in Gordan Ward who has not only put huge amounts of work into promoting underage games in the club, but has also trained over 20 of the club's coaches to Award 1 level. On the field of play, the club landed an u-12 boys' hurling league - a first at that grade. The club were proudly represented by our u-14 boys and girls at this year's u-14 Féile and our u-10 boys continued a long tradition by competing in the annual tournament hosted in Newry, Co. Down. Progress continued right through the ranks culminating in the growing success of our Senior mens' football team who are becoming a force to be reckoned with in AFL 2 compete in the Dublin Senior Football Championship.

We heartily congratulate Eric Lowndes who is again representing the club on the Dublin Minor hurling and football panels, winning two Leinster titles last year and playing in two All-Ireland finals; one of four players to do so. It was a magnificent achievement by a hugely talented dual star. The club were also proud to have two representatives on the Dublin ladies' u-16 panel in 2011, who also won a Leinster title and contested an All-Ireland final. Eric, Megan and Danielle have added to the club's growing tradition of providing county players.

Naomh Peregrine also contributes to cultural development in the Dublin 15 area, hosting ceilli and set dancing classes as well as participating in the annual GAA Scór competitons. The whole family are provided for in the club grounds: there is Gaelic for mothers and Football and Hurling for fathers. There is pool, darts, pitch and putt and our par 3 golf society. We also offer a full bar menu, including carvery lunches on Sundays.

On 10 September 2011 the club hosted its first ‘Family Fun Day', one of a number of exciting fundraising initiatives, the highlight of which was a mixed football game with the u-9 boys and the senior men (kitted out in wellies!). We were the first club in Dublin to host a ‘Take me Out' night, based on the popular TV show, and our second annual ‘Night at the Dogs' takes place in Shelbourne Park on 29 October.

The clubs is always on the lookout for new members of all ages so if you are living in the Dublin 15 area and wish to get involved at any level please call 01-82223269 or visit the club website (under contruction) www.cnp.ie.

We would like to thank all the volunteers who selflessly and freely gave their time and effort this year in helping the club grow and develop both on and off the pitch. We wish all our members and their teams continued success for the years ahead. Finally, we wish the Dublin County teams in all codes, across all levels, all the best for the fuure.
